Procurement Manager Utilities

Role

For our client, a global FMCG production company with European HQ in Prague, we are searching candidates for a Procurement Manager Utilities role with responsbility for all European production and distribution facilities and units.

Main purpose of the job is to develop and implement category strategies to drive sustainable procurement value, meet budget goals and manage suppliers, stakeholders and risks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute category strategies aligned with business priorities, driving operational excellence and sustainability.
  • Use internal and external data to assess the impact of solutions, market trends, regulations, and competitors on business needs.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans for renewable electricity and thermal energy to maximize business value and sustainability.
  • Meet targets/KPIs, monitor results, and take corrective action when needed.
  • Manage risks such as price volatility and supplier stability.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and ensure delivery and quality control.
  • Lead initiatives focused on sustainable value creation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a change agent, driving discussions with business partners and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure smooth sourcing activities in collaboration with relevant functions.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to leverage best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, processes, and procurement standards.

Profile
  • University degree in a Business-related field.
  • At least 7 years of procurement experience, including utilities.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end procurement processes, from strategy development to contract negotiation and execution.
  • welcomed is experience working with international markets and suppliers, with accountability for delivering procurement outcomes across multiple countries.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage category-related risks, including price volatility, supplier reliability, and volume assurance.
  • Ability to design, implement, and adapt category strategies in line with business needs, sustainability goals, and market trends.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
