Our client is a leading international FMCG company, producing and delivering globally renowned food and beverage brands. They manage their European operations from Prague and are seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their financial shared service center.

Role Overview

As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, with a primary focus on activities related to Poland. This pivotal role involves recording and reconciling financial transactions, preparing financial statements, analyzing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end accruals, journals, and schedules
• Assist in producing P&Ls, flash packs, and additional analysis from the commercial team
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Create and manage intercompany recharges
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and confirmations
• Handle fixed assets transactions and reconciliations
• Support month-end Internal Audit file preparation
• Post Treasury Accounting journals
• Contribute to annual budget and Profit Forecast collation
• Prepare finance budget schedules, including P&Ls and profit analysis
• Assist in statutory accounts preparation
• Support year-end audit queries and tax computation/return preparation

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
• Qualified accountant or equivalent (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or local professional qualification (desirable)
• 2-3 years of experience in finance shared services
• Experience working within regional teams in a matrix environment (advantageous)
• Fluent in English and Polish (essential)
• Advanced IT/Excel skills
• Prior experience with SAP/HFM or equivalent systems (advantageous)
