Sales Manager Telco


Our client is an international telecommunications network provider. It invests in fiber-only high-speed internet access network for customers in the Czech Republic. Our client closely co-operates with municipalities of the areas with bad coverage and access to internet connection and offers full investment (which is usually tens of millions of CZK) to deliver optical fibre to the area. It also closely co-operates and does business with nation wide as well as local telecommunication operators to provide access to reliable and speedy internet connection for their customers in the respective area, from local residents to businesses.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the responsibilities include:


  • Together with the Managing Director help developing new areas by interacting with new municipalities.
  • Take overall responsibility for sales (mostly residential customers – stand-alone family homes and apartment buildings) and deliver sales target within client’s network footprint
  • Create and execute tactical initiatives in the service footprint by identifying areas of opportunity (e.g. apartment blocks or low-penetration areas) and executing plans to grow them
  • Build the monthly sales plan for the team, monitor fulfillment and deliver it
  • Coach and develop sales representatives to ensure professional growth and success
  • Manage and grow a sales team to execute on clients ambitious sales targets
  • Ensure orders delivered by sales are in accordance with the company’s internal processes and ensure that orders handed off for installation contain all the required information to ensure a successful customer installation
  • Get new home developers on board with client, and expand the sales pipeline by agreeing deals that places client in new homes in the company footprint
  • Own the lead conversion funnel with Marketing, and optimize to deliver sales through the appropriate channels
  • Manage the commission plan for all salespersons
  • Setup and optimize sales systems and ensure the quality of the sales data included in it
  • Provide monthly sales plans and forecasts
  • Manage the team to ensure a great customer experience for customers coming to client



  • Extensive demonstrated success leading multi-channel B2C sales functions at a telecoms, utility, technology or similar services industry (7+ years of experience)
  • Hands-on and able to get into the detail to maximize sales output from the footprint
  • Has successfully managed a digital sales channel in a multi-channel environment and understands the key factors to make such a channel integral to a such an environment
  • Highly digitally literate, and experienced with modern digital sales tools: lead management, email marketing, geographic information systems (GIS), mobile and online purchase journeys
  • Analytically minded, comfortable working with data to build sales plans
  • Experience of quickly scaling a sales function in a start-up would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to lead multiple teams across multiple geographies
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment that moves quickly and must juggle multiple priorities
